How do I reorder a product variant's image?

Press down on the image that you want to move for at least 3 seconds. While holding down on the image, move the image into the desired location. Release your mouse or finger for changes to take effect.

How do I change my product gallery's settings?

i. Visit Variant Image Wizard main app page

ii. Press the Getting Started button under the Reinstall & Settings title

iii. Select the theme you'd like to change the product gallery settings for. Then, hit Next.

iv. Configure your product gallery's settings. Once satisfied, hit Next.

v. Hit the Reinstall button to update your theme with your newly selected settings. You will not lose any configured variant images.

How do I bulk copy images?

The bulk copy images is a feature available to our Pro subscribers. It enables you to configure images for one variant, and then quickly copy those images to other variants. This feature significantly reduces human input repetition on products with many variants.

i. Select the variant(s) you'd like to copy another variant's images to

ii. In the Copy Images From Variant text field, select the variant with the images that you want to copy. In the example below, we want to apply the 3 images from the Dark Blue / Small variant to both the Dark Blue / Medium & Dark Blue / Large variant.

iii. Press the Double Checkmark icon to the right of the Copy Images From Variant text field. Then, confirm the copy.

How do I import my existing variant images?

Variant Image Wizard can import the assigned variant images in your Product's detail page.

When you first configure a product in Variant Image Wizard, you'll be prompted to add any existing variant images. Visit When you are first configuring a product below to learn more.

You also have the flexibility of importing your existing variant images at any time by using the multi-select functionality. Visit After configuring your product below to learn more.

When you are first configuring a product

i. When you first open your product in Variant Image Wizard, hit Continue

ii. When prompted to import your existing variant images, hit Yes

iii. Your variant images are now imported!

After configuring your product

i. Select the variant(s) you'd like to import your image to

ii. Press the More icon (3 vertical dots) on the top right and then click Import Shopify Variant Image

iii. Confirm the import in the dialog presented

iv. Your variant images are now imported!

How do I bulk remove images from multiple variants?

i. Select the variant(s) you'd like to remove the images from

ii. Press the More icon (3 vertical dots) on the top right and then click Clear Images

iii. Confirm the removal in the dialog presented

How do I disable Variant Image Wizard for a particular product?

i. Open All products found in the Shopify Admin panel

ii. Select the product you would like to disable Variant Image Wizard on

iii. Press More actions , and then Edit Variant Images

iv. Toggle the Variant Images switch to disabled

How do I configure a product with one or no variants?

If you installed the app on your theme prior to July 13, 2020, you will have to reinstall the app on your theme. To learn how to do this, visit the first step in the Getting Started guide, and then click on the Reinstalling on a theme tab.

If you installed the app after July 13, 2020, you will automatically have support for adding images to a product with only one variant.

Configuring a product with only one variant is exactly the same workflow as configuring a product with more than one variant. All images you want to showcase for the product need to be added to the variant titled Default Title.

How do I globally disable the app?

i. Visit Variant Image Wizard main app page

ii. Disable the app by toggling the switch to disabled

What happens when I don't select any images for a particular product variant?

By default, if a variant has no images, similar to the image below, all images of the product will be displayed for that variant.

In the above example, a Dark Blue, Large Jumpsuit will show all of the product images in the screenshot below. 👇

Where are my images uploaded to?

Your images are uploaded to your Product's media. You can view them in your Product's detail page.

Do you support media other than images?

Yes! We also support videos (including YoutTube) and models.

Are there any limitations to this app?

Currently, we do not support adding images, videos, and models to a particular product if your Product media is in excess of 250 items. If you are running against this constraint, please write us at support-rio@productwiz.io letting use know — we will then work on removing this limitation.

How do I install the app?

Follow the first step in the Getting Started guide: 1. Installing the app

  • If it is your time installing the app, select the First time installing tab

  • If you are reinstalling the app, select the Reinstalling on a theme tab

  • Finally, if you are wanting to install the app on another theme, select the Reinstalling on a new theme

How do I install the app on a new theme?

Follow the first step in the Getting Started guide: 1. Installing the app. Select the Installing on a new theme tab when you're there.

How do I remove the app?

i. Visit Variant Image Wizard main app page

ii. Press the Get Started button under the Remove title

iii. Simply follow the directions the Removal Instructions lay out

If you want to completely remove the app, ensure that you remove the app from all of the themes you've installed it on.

What themes do you support?

We currently support all of the Shopify free themes and also the most popular premium/paid themes. If your theme is not currently supported, please contact us at support-rio@productwiz.io. We'll add support within 1-2 business days!

How do I crop an image?

i. Open up the Product's detail page of the product that contains the image that you want to crop. Open up that image and then follow this cropping guide.

How do I change an image, video or model's alt text (description)?

Why can't I upload media using the Shopify Mobile App?

The Shopify Mobile App currently does not support the ability to open the system's file dialog for apps. Please use your device's browser, or your desktop. You'll be able to upload images there!
